About Us

Drydown Dairies is a fragrance blog about what perfume actually smells like after the first ten minutes.

The opening of a scent is the easy part. What I care about is the dry down – the part that decides whether you’ll actually reach for a bottle again, or quietly shelve it. That’s where most reviews stop and where this site starts.

Who’s behind it

I’m Travis, and I’ve been collecting and wearing fragrance for 15 years. I’m not a trained perfumer or an industry insider. I’m someone who has spent a lot of money on blind buys that didn’t work out, and this site exists so you can make fewer of those mistakes than I did.

How I test

Every fragrance I write about, I’ve worn on skin not sprayed on a card, not judged from a sample vial under my nose. I wear each scent at least three separate times before writing, in different weather where I can, and I take notes at the 1-hour, 4-hour, and 8-hour marks. If longevity or projection was weak on me, I say so. Skin chemistry varies, so I tell you what I smelled and let you judge how that maps to you.

When I haven’t tested something personally, a limited release, a discontinued bottle, I say that clearly in the post rather than pretending otherwise.

What I won’t do

I don’t take payment for positive reviews. Some posts contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. That never changes what I write.
